photoblog image Forest path

Forest path

A spot of sunlight appeared for just a few moments. I don't usually 'do' scenery, unless we're on holiday, but thought I'd see what you think of this shot. It was taken on auto, because I haven't progressed very far with learning how to use the other settings on my camera. What sort of thing do I need to know?

Another nice shot Ellie smile
EJWilkins: Thank you Tinuke. I didn't think it was 'that' good.
hey ellie,

i love this shot. i love the twisted, tangled tree branches and the way the sunlight filters through the branches. i also really like the path and how it winds through the branches.
EJWilkins: Thanks, it's a lovely place to visit and that day, with that moment of sunlight made it even more special

I think you should 'do' scenery more Ellie - this is very nice
EJWilkins: I'm glad you like it, maybe I will have a go at 'this sort' of shot a bit more often, I'm really surprised by the response to it. Thanks Tad.
this shot has a nice feeling, welldone Ellie
EJWilkins: Thanks Frederic, kind of you to say so. smile

Nice shot Ellie. The blues and greens are pretty.
EJWilkins: Thanks Elsie, it's a very pretty area so I'm more than half way there .. just need to get the camera in the right place at the right time.

Now this is something I typically would not do, "scenery". I always seem to overlook. Nice what you have captured
EJWilkins: Hi Sola, maybe you should give it a try too and see what happens?

Very very nice Ell, really like the natural lead in lines and colours. Mal
EJWilkins: Thanks Mal, I had wondered if the tree right in the middle and at the end of the path would block the view, or something like that.

So pretty, Hanzel and Grettel woods!
EJWilkins: Oooh yes, of course it could be, but they'd get lost very easily if they strayed from the path.

Very lovely shot you have here Ellie.
Where to start from? Now that is a difficult question. I would say stick with 'auto' until you start having problems with the results its producing. Then you'll be more than motivated to learn the other modes grin
EJWilkins: Thanks Deji, I think I'm going to have to pluck up the courage to turn off the auto button some time and see what happens. If I mess up then I can try again until I get it right. I'm grateful for your comment.
