photoblog image Fairy Tale Village?

Fairy Tale Village?

A bundle of toadstools growing on a tree stump near a stream, the colour made them stand out from their surroundings.

The 'children' among us might see this as a Faerie Village, bustling with life when no humans are in sight.

very nice ellie i love the contrast here
EJWilkins: Thanks Genevieve, they are very rich colours aren't they.
Very nice one! I have one so similar on my photo archive smile You have must have seem.
EJWilkins: Hi Tomas smile yes I remember seeing your shots of the 'tree ears'. I don't think I left comments for all of them, sadly there isn't always time to say something about every picture I look at.

nice shot ellie and great colour but maybe a different angle would have suited it better...also, a bit too many are in frame for me.

sorry, but its just me smile
EJWilkins: No problems Sidak, everybody likes different things. smile There were a lot of these toadstools all together, they were small, only about two centimetres across.

haha, funny thing I took I took similar pictures of fungi last week, but obviously not that similar cos they weren't as nice as colourful as this smile
EJWilkins: Hi Christophe, I think this has been a very good year for fungi. There are a lot of different varieties, some very similar to each other. I look forward to seeing your pictures. smile

Hello ellie

Great shots, precious color and views...you and me are using a similar camera, I like the photos it takes.

About your comment in my space, I think the wall is unfinished...the building is an old country house in a small town in the north of Spain. It´s in ruins.

Well, my english is not so good...I hope I´d can explain myself.smile
EJWilkins: Hi Aitor, your English is much better than my Spanish, you have explained very well, thank you.
Hi Ellie ! smile
This one is beautiful, colors and contrast fit very well
Like the subject too ! Bravo
EJWilkins: Hi Zeblgleb, thanks for dropping by. I'm really pleased you like this shot. I went on a 'fungus foray' and found loads and loads, so this will probably be the first of several pictures.

Hi Ellie, good vision to see this shot again. smile
EJWilkins: Hi Chris, they were tucked away in some quite boggy ground and amongst some bushes so I was quite lucky to spot them. The colour helped quite a lot, by drawing me to them to see what it was that was so bright.

EJWilkins: Hi Johnny, the colours are rather amazing. I hope I didn't frighten them too much, so you get the chance to get some good shots ... I look forward to them smile
Beautiful shot Ellie and such vibrant colours and lovely light. Regards, Neil.
EJWilkins: Thanks Neil, it was a dull day and these colours were so vibrant, they looked really good smile

Ah, the one fantasy I've retained since I saw some beautifil Faerie illustrations in a text book as a schoolchild. I think it was the diaphanous gowns and delicate features that did it for me!

These are superb. Wonderful colours. All I can find nearby are what I think are called Ink Caps, and they're all over my lawn!
EJWilkins: *grin* I think we must have read the same book!
I saw a large ink cap earlier today, unopened unfortunately. There has been a bumper crop of fungi down here wink

Ellie, All your shots seem to capture a vivid but natural colour. What's your secret? Your imagination is also quite vivid.
EJWilkins: Thanks Pietro. I don't have any secret, maybe it's the software I use.

A vivid imagination? *grin* surely you believe in fairies.
