photoblog image Are you looking at me?

Are you looking at me?

This peacock was wandering around on was area in the park that was raised above the paths people used.
We stood and watched him for a while, then he came over towards us. It was almost as if he wanted to know what we were doing.
I think this shot shows how inquisitive he was.

I hate these birds ellie. not because of how you've captured it but how darn hard they are to focus on. forget autofocus cause it just gets all confused. i have a stack of peacock shots which i have not found a nice angle like this to crop to.
EJWilkins: Yes, the focus isn't 'spot on' and he was moving towards me. This is almost the whole shot, didn't get any of the rest of his body ... and threw loads away. wink
I love this one - nice colors and a gud macro. Agree with Nev - getting shots of these birds is a real tough job. Well done.
EJWilkins: Thanks Thomas, I hadn't realised how difficult it was until I had to delete loads that were completely out of focus. I wonder if it's the sheen in the feathers that confuses the camera?
lovely colors! I like it.
Morning Ellie. Lovely shot, great angle, brill DOF, magic colours. Just a pity in the drop off in focus, but understandable, reading the other comments. Regards, Neil
EJWilkins: Afternoon Neil ... that's another day gone! wink Thanks for your comments, as always they're appreciated.
Obviously yes... !!! Beautiful bird. Nice colours for this shot !! smile
EJWilkins: Thanks Florence, I'm glad you like the colours. smile

Hi Ellie, only last week I tried to capture a few shots of peacock's, but did not get the colours that you have here. Mal
EJWilkins: Hi Mal, mebbe it's because it was in a warmer country, I don't know. When I've tried to take photos of peacocks here in UK the colours have been much less bright.

Nice composition. It looks a bit out of focus. But these guys are hard to capture.
EJWilkins: Hi Moussa smile They don't stay still for long, that's for sure, and their shiny feathers don't do cameras any favours.
yes difficulty with focus... but nice one as all !
EJWilkins: Thanks Cushmok

You lookin' at me then? grin Try and focus on the eye in these shots Ellie, it gives them an edge. Chris smile
EJWilkins: Aha, that sounds like a good idea Chris, thanks for the tip smile
Noisy devil, had a couple around where we were staying on holiday, made a terrible racket. Great colour though.
EJWilkins: *grin* If they were mute I think more people might keep them as pets, they make the most appalling noise don't they? Glad you like the colour smile

Ellie, muy bonita y con colores preciosos (el azul es mi preferido). La profundidad de campo magnífica. Lástima el enfoque. Un saludo. - Ellie, very nice and with beautiful colors (the blue is my favorite). The magnificent depth of field. A pity the approach. A greeting
