photoblog image bridles

bridles

At last month's Beaulieu Road Pony Sales were traders selling equipment, including these colourful bridles, so I took a picture.

Try as I might, I don't seem to turn it into anything other than a 'snap'. What do people do to these sort of pictures to turn them into 'photographs'?

OMG, Ellie. This IS a photograph! It's like a collage of every bridle ever made; take your pick! I never would have believed it if you had just described it without the actual pic. It's like a cacophony of color that starts to grow on you, with the black and yellow checkered one standing out from the crowd!
EJWilkins: *grin* Thanks Ginnie. When I saw all the bridles hanging up I just 'had' to take a picture because they were so colourful.
hey ellie,

sweet shot! i love the patterns and colors, and the way the bridles overlap. i think that the way you framed this shot is really what gives it is lure.
EJWilkins: Thank you Nicole, I'm glad you like it.
hey ellie, please dont get mad..this shot doesnt work for me, its a bit too busy i think...
EJWilkins: Why would I get mad Yanik? Everybody has different tastes and this sort of shot is way outside my normal 'comfort zone' and is indeed very busy. I really appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment, thanks.

Ellie i love the variety of colour and patterns you have captured here. For me the pale tag is a bit distracting but it is easy to see why you were attracted to the scene. i would be tempted to chop everything to the right of the tag out unless of course purple is your favourite colour and therein lies the dilemna.

I don't think it looks like a snap at all. if you have photoshop i would lighten the shadows a little and a give it a bit of a curves boost.
EJWilkins: Yep, I think you're right Nev, the price tag is annoying. I'd cropped out two others, should have gone in even closer shouldn't I?
"Curves"? I hope you aren't talking dirty to me! wink
Unexpected and nicely framed picture today Ellie !
EJWilkins: Hi Florence, thanks for your comment, I appreciate it. smile
Cool Colors.
EJWilkins: Hi Sarthak, I'm glad you like the colours.

i love colours, i think if you add a tad of the hue and saturation layer, it will really sparkle. Nice.
EJWilkins: Thanks Atunbi, I'll have another fiddle with the shot and see what happens. smile

Well seen, as ever, Ellie.

See my separate email for how to turn your snaps into photographs. But don't tell everyone this highly complex solution or they'll all be doing it and we won't look special any more!
EJWilkins: Thanks Colin ... the 'solution' worked surprisingly well. wink
Super shot Ellie, just a little spoilt by the blown highlight on the tag, but I'm sure that can be fixed or taken out. I'm not too sure about my monitor, but I think a touch of colour saturation and contrast modification will make this stand out even more than it already does. It is maybe a touch busy, but then that is really what the shot is about, along with the magnificent colours. Welcome to this week's colour club!! Regards, Neil.
EJWilkins: Hi Neil, and thanks. I think bright sunshine is something I need to learn to deal with, but will probably have to wait until next year now because wet, windy and cloudy weather has arrived here.
I just love shots that fill the frame. This one's a beauty!
EJWilkins: Thank you for your kind comment Josie. smile

Snap crackle and pop - the snap is a photo without crop.

Maybe the tag, but the rest is very nice - would like to come and buy one - my horse's bridle is a bit shot.

An interesting shot.
For me I just go with what I like (and hope others agree with me smile)
