photoblog image Pig in hiding?

Pig in hiding?

The pigs I showed the other day 'broke into' a small paddock by the road.

This pig was coming back through the fence as I caught up with them. I like to think it was trying to hide behind this oak leaf.

Look at his eye watching you so intently. Look at his pink skin and dirty ears and snout. Today he looks like a pig, hiding behind an oak leaf! You had fun with this one, Ellie, I can tell. smile
EJWilkins: I was delighted with this shot, it seems to show the mischievous character of this particular pig.

Cute little fella, Ellie. Thought hard to see behind that leaf! smile
EJWilkins: Oh yes, the leaf is perfect camouflage isn't it?
hey ellie,

amazing that you were able to find him behind that leaf smile he's making quite a fashion statement with that nose ring. great capture.
EJWilkins: *grin* it was really well hidden, quite a job to see the pig!
The nose ring ... they are put in to stop them digging to deep, but still let them enjoy themselves.
hidding behind the leaf, lol....very nice head shot!
EJWilkins: smile Thanks for dropping by Dotun, I really appreciate it. I'm glad you like the picture.

i just think he doesn't want his mum to see he's gone and got his nose pierced either that or he's leaf sniffing, a practice called loaming. nice capture ellie.
EJWilkins: *grin* Hi Nev, thanks for your amusing and well thought out comment, I think you enjoyed yourself almost as much as the little pig smile
haha ya,nice piercing..!
quite a shy and fashionable pig eh...
EJWilkins: *grin Hi Shiv, yes, a very fashionable little pig.
Cute little big !! Hype pig !! Thanks Ellie for your daily visit... You and Neil were the only ones to have noticed the web on the flower !! Good !
EJWilkins: Hi Florence, thank you too for your regular visits and comments, I really appreciate it.
Nice expression on the pig face. ;-) Well captured.
EJWilkins: Thank you Sarthak, it's a great expression isn't it? smile
Take a look on his eye... is he watching us? Maybe he thinks:
EJWilkins: Yes Michele, he was watching everything I did and wondering what I was going to do next.

Funny animals
EJWilkins: Hi Chantal, I agree, animals can be amusing sometimes, especially when they are happy. smile
"Oink, oink, can she really see me hiding here?" I actually think he is making sure there is nobody lurking around with a bowl of apple sauce!! Super capture Ellie, lovely photograph. Regards, Neil.
EJWilkins: I tried saying 'Apple Sauce' to them, but they didn't take any notice. wink

Truffles! Yummy.
EJWilkins: Aha .. I think that's why they have the nose rings, so they won't dig too deep for truffles. Never tasted one, have you?

well...the shot itself is gud...very clear and perfect capture...
but i dont like pigs and that DOESNT look cute at any rate!...lol...

P.S. problem not fixed..it still says no photographer comment...ne idea whats wrong?
EJWilkins: Thanks Vyder, I'm glad you appreciate the picture even though you don't like pigs. I can relate to that absolutely, there are plenty of creatures I don't like very much, including spiders.

I'm sorry I can't be more help with your blog problem, I don't know enough about the software. I'm sure you will get a really helpful reply to your email soon, and it will be fixed. smile

look at that face!!! he's up to no good. i dont know pigs, but i used to know many creatures with nose rings and i can tell you they (ok me too) always had an impish streak... really funny Ellie.

~S.
EJWilkins: Oh absolutely, it and its friends were 'up to no good. The state of the paddock after they'd spent about twenty minutes in it was 'something' I can tell you! There were little furrows in the grass where they'd dug and a tidy pile of compost was scattered everywhere. grin

You captured the moment very well. The ears got my attention; in Thailand BBQ pig's ear is a very popular offering from the food-cart...cooked, cut in strips, served with spicy sauce and a side-dish of steamed onion leaves; it's mostly skin and cartilage, and gives the jaws a good work-out. Thank you for posting the picture.
EJWilkins: Thanks Ray. I didn't know that, I've only seen them sold here as treats for pets. I'd imagine they are quite a challenge to eat, even cut into strips.
