Wistaria, Lymington

Taken in the spring, this Wisteria is a huge plant growing on the wall of what used to be a doctor's surgery but which is now a restaurant. The property is named Wistaria.

I may not be online much between now and the New Year, we have visitors. I'll drop by when I can.

Best Wishes for a peaceful and happy Christmas.

Nice shot Ellie I think the red door makes the shot.
EJWilkins: Thanks Daniel, I think they chose really well. The door used to be yellow, which didn't look anywhere near as good against the flowers.
There is something warm about this pic. I like this one
EJWilkins: That's good, I'm glad you like it. I think the red door is a very clever choice of colour.

lovely wasrm colours for a drab wet day - thanks Ellie
EJWilkins: Horrible day here too Paul, heavy cloud, wet and windy and barely daylight.

Certainly brightened up a miserable day Ellie smile
EJWilkins: Yep, it's been miserable here too, dark clouds, strong winds and rain. Roll on some frosts, then at least we'll get some clear skies and sunshine. smile
Hiya Ellie. Sorry to read that you guys in the UK are having such miserable weather, whilst we are basking in beautiful sunshine!!
This is a very nicely composed, focussed and framed shot. Good colour contrast and I love the inclusion of the nameplate. A tricky one for exposure, admirably dealt with, very well done. Warmest wishes and kind regards, Neil.
EJWilkins: Trust you to rub it in! tongue
Neil, you're too kind, I simply pointed the camera and clicked the button, then fiddled with the picture a little bit after I downloaded it.
I'm actually surprised at how bright it is, because I've got a sparkling new monitor .. not sure whether the settings are quite right yet though. The other one was well past its' best.
Something to look forward to! Happy New Year Ellie!
EJWilkins: You're right Josie, only another few months and it'll be in flower again. It's a lovely thought.
Happy New Year to you too smile

Great picture Ellie - lovely contrasting colours. Wistaria are nice indeed
EJWilkins: One of my favourite flowers Louis, and I'm lucky that there's this wonderful old plant growing in our town.
Glad you like the picture, as I've mentioned to Neil I'm quite surprised at how bright it looks on my sparkly new monitor, it was uploaded from an old one which was well past its' best. This one needs a bit more calibration, and getting used to ... so if there are glaring mistakes in pictures you can blame my monitor from now on wink
Hi Ellie, I'm longing for springtime too ! A colourful shot... I love the red door !! And the flowers are very nice.

I wish you a very nice year 2007. My best wishes !
EJWilkins: Hi Florence, I think the choice of red paint was a really good one, it's not only welcoming (to the restaurant) but also looks wonderful against the Wisteria.
My best wishes for 2007 to you too, I'm sur eit will be a wonderful year. smile

I LOVE wisteria, Ellie, because it is one of our Georgia hallmarks of Spring. It really is the promise of warmer weather to come. Great reminder while we're here in Michigan (before the Tribe descends).
EJWilkins: I really like it too Ginnie, it's one of my favourite flowers. I had no idea it was linked with any particular US state. I'm so pleased I had queued this picture for today, which has been absolutely foul here, dull, dark, wet and windy!
Enjoy your stay in Michigan smile
nice shot Ellie, full of colors, I need some here all is grey
EJWilkins: Glad you like it Dafredo, especially as it sound as if you've got the same horrible weather as we've got here.
