great shot ellie. well cropped.
EJWilkins: Thanks Genevieve smile
Good morning Ellie. I do enjoy these photos of everyday life that you take. It is not too difficult to see what this chap's favourite colours are! Well composed, nicely cropped, very good focus. Well done Ms. Wilkins. Many regards, Neil.
EJWilkins: Thank you very much Mr Tandy, ... my, we're being very formal today! tongue This is another of those, "Should I, shouldn't I?" pictures, as a picture it isn't much, but it is 'as is' and records a moment in this man's working life. I wanted a different angle, but couldn't get one because of the people milling about ... and he was just plain busy, didn't stay still for very long!
Love the concentrating face, good shot Ellie
EJWilkins: Hi Magnus, and thanks a million for dropping by. He was concentrating hard, it looks almost as if he was biting his lips while filling up the planter.
Hi Ellie,
Thanks a lot for your good and precious wishes. I'm spending a good time of life with my lovely wife and our children... Too cold outside to play with my Nikon (it's a joke of course... New pictures will arrive soon.)
I wish you a happy new year too, for you and all the persons you love, many shots and pleasures.
EJWilkins: Thank you so much Roland smile I appreciate your best wishes for me and mine. I also look forward to seeing pictures you have taken with your lovely camera.

Ah Ellie and a market - i am envying you. Anyhow one of the most fascinating things about these market stalls is the speed with which they can set it up and be ready to trade.

Good shot Ellie.
EJWilkins: Hi Louis, you wouldn't have envied anybody if you had been trying to work a stall today, it was raining and blowing a small gale .. and there were very few shoppers! All at the sales in the big city.
This stall doesn't take long to set up, all he does is wheel his trays of plants and planters off a van and set up his table. Others take quite a bit longer and involve scaffolding and boards, but even so I'd think the longest it takes is an hour or so.
Hopefully I'll be able to get some more pictures of the market for you in the New Year. smile
theres a small plant stall that sets up near one of my regular bus stops, here in Hackney, east London. I really appreciate having my attention filled with the various flowers and colours while waiting for a bus. Its one of those tiny pleasures that are an important part of the composition of each day.
EJWilkins: Hi Russell, how lovely of you to drop by. smile
Flowers can work wonders can't they, to lift moods and brighten a day, I'm glad you've got some stall packed with them near where you live. smile

Nicely worked Ellie, its not easy when it gets busy in Lymington High st. smile
EJWilkins: Thanks Chris, I'm hoping to remember to take the camera with me again soon and, hopefully, get some shots of other stalls and maybe even a bit of action, but I think it'll be fairly quiet through to the end of January.

Lovely picture Ellie! makes me wish it was spring allready...
EJWilkins: Thanks Petra, spring won't be too long, not really. I'm amazed by this stall holder, he always seems to manage to have found flowers in bloom, whatever month of the year. smile
Nice colouring Ellie. Keep up the supply of good pics

I know this is everyday life for you at the Saturday market, Ellie, but for many of us around the world (well, here in the United States, at any rate) we do not see this. Not outside in a street stall. So these are pics I'm glad you decide to publish, after the wavering back-n-forth. Sometimes capturing the ethos of a moment in everyday life is more emotive than a brilliantly worked artistic photograph!

I love his skock of white hair! smile
