100th

My first hundred images, mixed up together to make a montage.

I would like to thank everybody for making me so welcome, and for leaving both encouraging and critical comments about what you have seen over the last hundred days. I'm not going to mention names for fear of leaving somebody out, but suffice it to say that I'm enjoying the Shutterchance experience. I have seen some truly amazing pictures and am learning a lot, both about what I like and what I might be able to achieve.

Thank you.

I doubt my next hundred will be anything amazing, don't hold your breath waiting! At the moment I'm going through archives, the weather is just too awful to go out, and I'm rather busy too.

Very nice montage. There are some very nice photos in there. The two cygnets that make a heart is quite the opportunistic shot. That would make a nice card. Congratulations on making 100 posts.
EJWilkins: Hi Clint, those cygnets were amazing but the picture's slightly out of focus, so I don't know how well it would print. I'll have to try it out. Thank you for your congratulations smile

Love to you... ~Sara

Happy birthday Ellie. You have done it in quick smart time to. All the best. Mal
EJWilkins: Hi Mal, and thanks a million for your message. 100 pics in 100 days, quite a journey! As Chris says, I nearly didn't have the courage to join, but I'm really pleased I did. Your pictures are an inspiration, not that I think I'll ever be able to create the same quality of images, but it's something to aim for. Thank you smile
Eiiii!!! Ellie, already we are here with those 100 first images. Very many congratulations and I hope to be able to continue counting hundreds more!
EJWilkins: Hello Jose smile Thank you very much for your lovely message. The time has passed really quickly since the beginning of October when I uploaded my very first picture. It will be Spring before I get to 200, and I hope the weather will be better.

Ellie i see not only 100 wonderful shots (i didn't count) but a lot of wonderful stories, interesting facts about diseased plants and many good belly laughs as well. congrats on reaching one hundred and the letter from the queen is in the post. smile
EJWilkins: grin Thanks Neal, you're a charmer. I didn't count either, I believed the number that appeared next to my name. Will I really get a letter from Buck House? Wow, how did you organise that?
Hopefully I'll find something in the archives that can go towards the next hundred, the weather's been too awful to be out there with a camera.

If you ever had any doubt about your place in the SC world, you can certainly now put it to rest, dear Ellie! smile In may ways (I'll speak for myself), I see you as the Hub of this wheel that goes round and round. I'd say you're also like the Mother Hen, if you'll take it in the way I mean it. So caring and supportive and loving. Someone we all need! Thanks.

(But I must say I haven't a clue about how you made this collage! Tell me it's simple so that I can copy you on my 100th.) smile
EJWilkins: Aww Ginnie. That's such a very kind thing to say. I wasn't able to get on here earlier 'today', didn't even check my emails so it's been quite a surprise to see over 30 messages.

I made the mosaic by opening a new square image, then I put a 10 x 10 grid on it. I came on here and copied each thumbnail and put it in the grid, it was quicker than using the originals.
The hundredth square was the hardest, it was of the mosaic itself.
When I had added all the thumbnails I put a new black grid over the top to define each square.
It took quite a long time, but it was fun to do. I didn't use PS, I used Photofiltre.

Petra did an amazing picture for her 200th, which was also today. She used some software to create it, there's a link in her reply on her blog.

Well done Ellie, I echo all the above comments. Shutterchance is all the better for you being on board.
EJWilkins: Very kind of you to say so Steve, I really appreciate it smile
And to think you didn't want to start a blog wink Nice work Ellie, keep them coming *pals* Chris smile
EJWilkins: Ha! Yes Chris, it's all your fault isn't it? I nearly bottled out of starting a blog, but I'm really glad I did. I'm learning a lot.

Thank you *pals* smile
100, more than an entire team of English cricketers can manage between them!! I will not say that it has been a pleasure to view your photos and read your write ups because it has not.......IT HAS BEEN AN ABSOLUTE DELIGHT!!! Bet I got you a little worried there! This really is a super montage, which needs to be printed A0, framed and put in your lounge, local pub, the auction rooms, and all of the places you have featured during the last remarkable 100 or so days. May you long continue. Warmest wishes and kindest regards, Neil.
EJWilkins: ** the cricket, and since when has it been a winter sport? tongue
Thanks Neil, it should go without saying that I appreciate your message today, and also for your support and encouragement on my journey to 100. Hopefully I will be able to continue, but unless the weather lifts you'll be seeing old pictures rather than new ones for quite some time to come.
Congratulations on your 100th - and a great montage. I'll visit you on your way to pic number 200 :o)
EJWilkins: Thank you very much Aksel, I hope you enjoy the journey towards 200 smile
Felicitaciones Ellie. Ha sido un placer ver algunas de tus 100 fotos y leer tus comentarios (prometo ver todas las fotos que no he visto aĂșn) y sobre todas las cosas, conocerte. Besos

Ellie: congratulations. It has been a pleasure to see some of your 100 photos and to read your commentaries (I promise to see all the photos that I have still not seen) and on all the things, to meet you. Kisses

Congratulations for your first 100 photos.
Nice mosaic. How have you done this?
EJWilkins: Hi Jesquilo, and thank you so much for your comment.

I made the mosaic by opening a new image, then I put a 10 x 10 grid on it. I came on here and copied each thumbnail and put it in the grid, it was quicker than using the originals.

Hello Ellie,
i am a wee bit slow here i know but this requires comment.

this, to me, speaks a volume of thoughts from you, i dont know how you done this but it is excellent, it shows what kind of person you are, how you view the world and what you see as important/worthy. i like your take on horses - you have an obvious love and respect for their kind. good on you!

i really like your work on nature, you have talent and passion i think.

~ Robert.
EJWilkins: Oh my gosh, thank you. smile
I made a grid and slotted the pictures onto it in diagonal lines, trying to link images.
I have to admit that yes, there is a passion. One that I was not aware of until I picked up the camera for the first time last spring. Talent? I don't know. I only take pictures of what I can see, and I don't really know what to do with them now. ...

Not as slow as me! (See last comment). A fine set of images for you to be proud of. Effectively arranged too, unlike my 'just-do-it-in-date-order' approach.
