Juggler ~ Tall Ships #1

Taken in July 2006 when we visited the Tall Ships at Doca Espanhol in Alcântara, Lisbon. It was a searingly hot day, brilliant sunshine with very little shade anywhere.

This juggler was one of a troupe of actors/entertainers
- Ritmos Urbanos - who moved around the quays to entertain both the crowds of visitors and the ships' crews. He was really very good.

Next time I take a picture of a juggler I'll include their hands. ...

Another hat, Ellie! (HA, I couldn't resist that.)

I love the concentration on his face and that you caught him looking directly at the pin (or whatever you call what he's juggling). If you had included his hands, you would have lost the pin...or would have had to zoom back, losing some of the detail. Guess we'd call that a toss-up! (HA! I always surprise myself when I can come up with a pun.) smile
EJWilkins: I wonder, have all my 'people' got hats? I'll have to look. smile

I've had to look up what they're called - clubs - I was concentrating so much on catching at least one that I didn't think of his hands, I did manage to get one, but there were loads of other people in the background which made it look messy. I like the illusion that he was entirely on his own here. and I can't think of a punny reply, why is it that they're always elusive when you most want one?

A package arrived a few minutes ago, thank you. I will enjoy contents .. and daughter will keep the stamps smile
very nice expression Ellie ! you got him right !
EJWilkins: Thanks Dafredo, I'm glad you think so smile

Pin sharp Ellie, you have captured the concentration on his face very well. There is just the right amount of blur in the batton/stick thingy (just noticed your reply to Ginnie) club to add interest also. Mal
EJWilkins: Autofocus Mal, makes life very easy wink Mind you, when I was trying to catch this one I learned a thing or two about when to press the button. There were one or two without one of the club/baton/stick thingies anywhere near the picture
Yes, I was going to mention the hands. It's a good picture anyways, and the expression on his face is priceless!
EJWilkins: Yep, I learned something. Hopefully I'll get another chance one day and will get the hands in the shot and a background uncluttered with people. I got half way there, which is something smile

You've caught his expression just right Ellie smile
EJWilkins: His concentration was amazing, even more so when he was walking around juggling, and he didn't trip over anything either. We were watching him for about ten/fifteen minutes and didn't see him miss a catch. He was good.
lol, love this kind of shot !
EJWilkins: I'm so pleased. smile Thanks Zeb
