photoblog image Water Faeries?

Water Faeries?

These toadstools were growing on the bank of the Lymington River at Brockenhurst.
Taken last October

I thought they looked almost magical, perhaps a home to water faeries?

it's a good photo but the subject is a bit ... eww wink good earth tones in it -- muds and fungi, etc!
You been at the shrooms again, girl? Surprised you could see straight enough to take this....hehe. The family shroom, nice one.
you got it right Ellie, it looks interesting ! I would have said an isolated island if I had to guess where it was ;-)
What a find Ellie! There had to have been fae about. Gorgeous and the reflections are an added bonus. Definitely a likey for me!
EJWilkins: So pleased you like it Josie, they weren't 'meant' to be growing in a stream. There had been a lot of rain so their 'home' had been flooded.
That's a great find, Ellie. The colors are wonderful and certainly pose very nicely for your shot.
très belle photo/. les champignon sont beau... mais je ne crois pas qu'ils soient bons
EJWilkins: No, I wouldn't think about eating them. smile

Ideal image to illustrate a fairy tale!
So simple but so nice, I like composition of the picture and colours, very nice reflections in water... any fairytale creatures around?

Oh yes, Ellie. A whole community of faeries! They love places like this. So nicely captured, as always!

top left hand corner is that a silencer from a gun sticking out.....heehee...lol
EJWilkins: Goodness me, I didn't notice that. I think it must be a piece of pipe of some sort.

My very first thought was that it looks like place from a fairy tale. Then I read what you've written. Beautiful and magical indeed.
Oh, I love the way the colour just pops. I might have cropped out the thorny branch on the right side, but that's just something I'd experiment with.
EJWilkins: I did try it, but the bramble with its reflection seemed to make a nice 'frame' to that side of the picture.
Love it ! A great shot - Did you try to work on light to obtain a bit more contrast ?
EJWilkins: I did, but it made a mess of the toadstools, made them look as if they were plastic. So I left it dark-ish and mysterious-ish, how it was when I saw them.

Excellent composition, suggesting the mysterie of little people
Nice shot Ellie... Do elephant's colors change to rose when we eat them ?
EJWilkins: I don't know, I've never eaten an elephant! wink

Well spotted, well composed. Nice one Ellie.
Particularly like the colours.
Nice shot, Ellie - I like the reflections in the water. I would probably have cloned out the pipe in the top left of the shot. Might look good as a B/W or sepi?
