Hey this is beautiful. I really do like stained glass images and it's usually so hard to capture them well while not loosing the darks or blowing out the highlights. It's really nice. I hope the museum was interesting too. smile

EJWilkins: (24 Feb) Thanks Ian. The Museum was amazingly interesting, would take a good half day to see it all properly. Here's a link to the website http://museu.marinha.pt/Museu/Site/PT
Very interresting shot Ellie !
Being a stained glass artist myself, I always appreciate photos of my artform. Great to see, Ellie.
good symmetry in this photo.
Being the historian that you are, did you go into the history of this place, did they, are they, was the place built by Masons as in Knights Templars ? The symbolism is a little hard to miss with the window, ropes, arch and reliefs.
EJWilkins: (24th Feb) There's that symbolism everywhere, the cross is on the sails of the ship used for the logo of the museum. http://museu.marinha.pt/Museu/Site/PT The building housing the museum was part of the Joachim Monastery.
I forgot to say it's a wonderful shot and thanks for showing us. smile

WOW, Ellie. I don't remember ever seeing a triangularly-shaped stained glass window. Johnny's comment about the Knights Templars does come to mind. Fabulous lighting once again.
I am glad to see you are enjoying your vacation, Ellie!
Nice catch Ellie - back soon?

Can I see a pair of legs jutting out below the bottom centre frame - topped by a figure with Dennis Taylor glasses on? tongue
EJWilkins: (24 Feb) grin ... now you mention it, so can I!
Great colours and lovely piece of stained glass and the triangular window framed within the arch give it a very nice perspective.

The triangle is not the usual shape for stained glass, but in a marine museum, probably supposed to be a sail.

Great shot, hand held and it came out a ok.
Nice shot Ellie

Really good. I intend to visit Portugal some day. As another places in Europe as well.

You've got this really well Ellie. An unusual triangular shaped stained glass window (is it unusual, I've never seen one before, but I'm no expert). Perfectly exposed and with perfect symmetry.
