Perfect! And I love the way the tone of the background changes at its head. This shot just couldn't be better - right down to the way the branch ends and therefore doesn't lead out of the picture frame.

i'm with penny. i like the bokeh here. that new camera of yours is great ellie. well driven
EJWilkins: Had to look that word up Nev wink I learn something new every day, it's wonderful. And, I think the camera is too. Thanks.
Loving this photo! Perfectly centered and the details are astounding! And you say you shot this through a glass? Impressive, most definitely! smile

If you are able to take such a picture, without even moving from your house, I don't really know what else to say! This is absolutely awesome, the glass is totally invisible, great details, lovely blurred background. Simply wonderful.

Sharp and gorgeous detail, with no evidence you had to contend with glass...your other half must be a great window cleaner. [grin]

In this picture the female blackbird does not look at all drab...I can see why the shiny black guy goes for her.
EJWilkins: I should be so lucky Ray! Rain outside and smoker inside, himself off at work for a very long time, so the windows don't end up being cleaned very often. wink
Ah, the lady blackbird, they have to look their best in the spring to capture the heart of the best chap in the area ...
Exceptional detail, Ellie! What a cute little bird. They must like you if they sit so close to the window. : )
EJWilkins: Thanks Kay. smile They don't stay still for very long, our bird table is about fifteen feet from the window.
Have to agree with Mia - BEST BIRD SHOT, probably BEST SHOT Ellie. I just love this - simply awesome. Can you tell us what PP you did?
EJWilkins: Yikes Thomas, well, I'd better leave now because everything else I share on here will be a disappointment. wink
The original was cropped and resized, that's all. I've uploaded it http://www.ellie.shutterchance.com/photoblog/67106.htm to show you. smile

ooo~that's sharp!
taken through glass, but the image looks very clean.
nice shot!
I can just see you now- camera on the tripod, remote release in one hand, Womans Weekly in the other, (or a postcard from Portugal) coffee on the table beside you, (or G+T) getting drowsy in the warmth of the Spring sun coming through the window, popping off shots of anything that lands on the stick! grin Only joking! Lovely shot.
EJWilkins: Darn it David, I've been caught out! grin Almost! But, no tripod; no remote release; no Woman's Weekly; no postcards; no G+T; very little sunshine and not much lands on the stick, but it was an interesting experiment ...
Very very good for a shot through glass. I would not have noticed it. Beautiful blackbird pic. smile
That's great, I love the light and the blue sky on the background. This bird id really lovely.

Your french is good Ellie !! I've seen your com onto my friend "cardillo"... that's great Ellie... you don't have to be ashamed... !!! smile
Just a thing, we said : UNE jolie image for image is feminine. That's it. Again, this is great Ellie ! smilesmilesmile
EJWilkins: OK, let's try again ...
C'est tres difficile pour moi, une Anglaise qui parle seulement un petit peu de la francaise (j'ai oublie beaucoup) et un peu de Gallois, parce que il y a beaucoup d'autres langues dans Europe et je ne les parle pas.
Very nice detail in this shot and the background colors looks fab smile
