Very simple picture, but I like it a lot, I My eye is especially drawn to the fallen leaves srtewn about and telling me there has been a cold wind recently.
EJWilkins: I liked the leaves there too Ray. It was the beginning of autumn so they were beginning to fall, some beautiful colours smile

Another good study on perspective, Ellie. Perspective on a hill with rounded posts! I like that. smile
EJWilkins: Wouldn't it be nice if I could lay claim to having put the bridge there, but all I did was walk over it a couple of times and then have a go at taking a picture smile
Thanks Ginnie.

definitely B/W
EJWilkins: Thanks for the idea Abi. Mono version is here
http://ellie.shutterchance.com/photoblog/68124.htm
I like how the perspective reveals all of the columns in the foreground and reduces them to flat looking stacks in the distance. Nice! Abi's suggestion sounds like it is worth exploring. Geometry makes this shot work, and the colors are almost a distraction.
EJWilkins: Thanks Martin, I've tried the mono, it's here

nice one Ellie, like how my eyes are led into the shot
EJWilkins: Oh good, that's what I was trying to do smile
Hey cool. This looks exactly like a bridge we have here in Toronto out on the Toronto Islands. I guess it's not that uncommon but everything down to the leafs and stuff. When i saw the thumbnail i was sure it was the same one! smile Nice capture smile

-iain.
EJWilkins: Aha, so it's your turn next. wink
Maybe they were build by the same architect, or more likely it was a fairly popular pattern at about that time. Thanks Iain.
Nice and Simple !!!
EJWilkins: Thanks Shakara
Nice perspective!
EJWilkins: Thanks Frank
I like it because that's the type of bridge that can be any where. Have you tried a mono conversion ?
EJWilkins: Hadn't tried it, but there's now a mono version here
http://ellie.shutterchance.com/photoblog/68124.htm
I like the lines in this one - I like the colour version smile
EJWilkins: I think I prefer it too smile

Another super piece of photography Ellie, you deserve your ranking up there in the top echelon of shutterchancers.Great composition, lines, angle and exposure. Many regards, Neil.
EJWilkins: Cripes Neil. Thanks, but all I did was point the camera at a rather pretty bridge. smile
Hi Elie! Thanks for posting this great picture. I like the lines and the way it draws the eyes. Good job!
Kay
EJWilkins: Thanks Kay, that's kind of you smile
The mono is not bad, but I prefer this one. It's like if you chose the subject (very "you" country style), and dotun directed the take (he is all about repetitions)!
I love the way it came out, Ellie.
EJWilkins: Thanks Samira, I think I prefer the colour one too, although I can see why some people would prefer the mono one.
PS: Or may be for this particular one, escaping on the field behind, dafredo intervened? wink
EJWilkins: grin Now, there's a thought!
I would have probably done the same picture. smile
EJWilkins: I think you might have done too Julia smile

Nice shot, I prefer the B&W version as it emphesizes the composition better than the color which doesn't have a significant role in the shot.
EJWilkins: Thanks Urv. It's interesting to read what you say, mainly because I'm never sure about colour conversions and in this case I think it's a bit weak, but increasing the contrast seemed to spoil it.
Oh Nice perspective Ellie
EJWilkins: Glad you think so Roland smile
From here to indefinity! I like your idea and impression of wave, really nice!
EJWilkins: Buzz Lightyear strikes again! wink... Thanks Monika
I liked the B/W best smile
Great angle
EJWilkins: Thanks Magnus. smile Could you indulge me please, and say why it is you prefer the b/w. I think it lacks the punch so many people seem to be able to achieve, even when they convert from colour.

Been there wink
EJWilkins: I know you have, and I think you were standing a little to my left when I took this picture wink
I like both versions; however, the subtle grey-green tones of the balusters really hold my attention in the colour shot. So peaceful.
Ellie, I have left to a commentary in the image “mono”. I like plus that! wink
I love the way the curve of the railing leads the eye along the bridge.
Like very much the perspective !!

Mono/colour -some of this, some of that. What makes the picture great is the lines and the angle to the railing that you have chosen. Love it.
Sorry to go back to such an older post, I'm liking this one alot. Don't know what it is about it, I just like the way it makes feel.
