Well captured Ellie, I like the composition.
EJWilkins: Thanks Dotun smile
hey ellie,

i really like the angle from which you shot this. did you desaturate and then selectively color? regardless, i love the starkness of this shot and the contrast that the color adds to it.
EJWilkins: Yes, slightly. The colours were fairly muted in any case, it hasn't made a lot of difference.

But but but...how BIG is it? Is this a normal sized football, Ellie, or is it huge (like I saw on Monika's post the other day)? I'm just wishing I knew the scale.

Regardless, I have the same question as Nicole: did you use selective coloring for this? If so, congratulations. It's fun, isn't it! grin
EJWilkins: I think the football was about a yard high, the other orbs were larger. And yes, I desaturated and then brought some of the colour back.

Great composition Ellie. A goodie.
EJWilkins: Thanks Lillith, but I've only just noticed the verticals aren't! Oops!
great combination of B&W and little color.
EJWilkins: Thanks smile

Good place for a kick-about wink
EJWilkins: Might be, but not with that ball it'd need a giant's boot to move it. wink
Up with Nicole and Ginnie. Loves it
EJWilkins: Thanks smile
Ha! You have a football image on your blog and I'm talking about football on my blog today! Well, I don't think you have desaturated or anything, I think this is close to how you shot it. I find it a really interesting juxtaposition between the water jets and the balls.
EJWilkins: Aha, I'll have to look ...
There's been a bit of desaturation, but not much. THe whole of this area has been well designed, with all sorts of interesting things to look at. Hope you get there some day smile
Funny architecture ! Have a nice week Ellie !
EJWilkins: Yes, slightly. smile
and yes, I will ... you too smile
Did you play with the colors or is the ball really the only colored thing out there? Interesting arrangement, regardless smile
EJWilkins: Yes, I did but only slightly to even out the tone of the stonework, then I brought back the colour of the football, which was very faded.

Ellie into new genres. It must be saturday. The picture has the potential I believe, great lines and form with life added by the water. I have moved the picture up on my screen to exclude the sky piece at the top and believe it improved the picture.
EJWilkins: I think it would have been better if I'd straightened it! I've not long ago realised that the vertical isn't!
I cropped and cropped, each time I could see pros and cons, ended up with this one ... On reflection, yes, probably better without the section of sky. Thanks Louis smile
Interesting urban landscape… I was in the Expo of Seville in 1992, but there were digital cameras no there still! Long ago
This looks like a BW with a coloured ball - cool smile
I like the element of the unexpected here.
