Very pretty and is the dog real or a statue?
EJWilkins: It's a statue, there's one the other side of the door too. Unfortunately as I clicked the button somebody walked through the door and spoiled things
Ellie..this is a very pretty picture. Wish I had some of that wisteria but I do not think it would grow here. There is alot to look at in this picture, each time I go back I see something else I find interesting. It is going to my likeys!! Well done!
EJWilkins: I don't know how far north you are, but it grows in Scotland so it might be worth a try. There is a lot to see, it's quite a fussy building as well as a nice plant smile
looks like a pretty nice place, nice shot Ellie.
EJWilkins: It's a verrry nice place wink
Very pretty Ellie
EJWilkins: Thanks smile

Aha! Now that's something we can relate to here in Atlanta. WISTERIA! But I have never seen it grow "out of" a house! It's quite an idyllic setting, Ellie. Very lovely. (And there's that Beaulieu again!)
EJWilkins: I think it'll be cut back once it's flowered so the plant can recover, and also to keep it fairly close to the building. Yes, that's Beaulieu again wink

Very pretty, Ellie, and the portrait framing suits the image.
I grew a wisteria plant 20 years or so ago at the house I had in Australia, and it provided superb shade over a huge pergola; it is very drought resistant and is totally comfortable with cold; I heard the plant can easily live 100 years. And, it flowers in October in Australia...every year a spectacular tent of mauve flowers.
Although I am a big fan of Australian natives, the wisteria was my favourite plant.
EJWilkins: There are some around here that might even be that old, they're huge with very thick 'stems' ... can you call it a trunk? I adore the flowers, and this year's been a particularly good one.
I can see why people like the English countryside smile
EJWilkins: It looks a bit 'typically' English I think smile
Quiet simple picture Ellie. Home, sweet home... have a nice day !
EJWilkins: I did have a nice day, I hopeyou did too smile
great angle, miss some brightness in the color though
EJWilkins: Thanks, and a good point, do you think it may be because it was quite a dull day?
So that's what they are called, I've often wondered about that as I love the colour of them. Nice angle to give us a more realistic view of the tree/bush ?
EJWilkins: Yep, that's the name smile Glad you like the angle.

(Am I out of time for some printing, I got sidetracked last week)
Beautiful photo Ellie
EJWilkins: Thanks Bernie smile
Its been a good year for Wisteria and this one is glorious smile
EJWilkins: It's been a wonderful year for the flowers hasn't it?
Unfortunately I missed most of them round here, this one and another couple in Beaulieu seemed to be flowering later
Wow !! Que bonito parece ese lugar !!

Wow! That pretty it seems that place!
EJWilkins: Gracias Jose, Estoy contento usted tengo gusto de él. Es un lugar bonitosmile
Quaint and charming. I'd like to stay there.
EJWilkins: wink You might need to check the room rates ...

Thanks for naming this Ellie. As always, my knowledge of plant names leaves a lot to be desired. Hopefully I'll remember wisteria the next time to spot it. is this a really old example? The trunk looks so terribly ancient.

over here wisteria is like a stick for 51 weeks of the year and then it flowers for a week or so. lovely flowers but not sure i would live with the stick for the rest of the year. lovely capture though ellie
What a lovely old wisteria. Great shot, Ellie!
