photoblog image In the sea at Cascais

In the sea at Cascais

Taken in Portugal in February. This is one of a group of pictures I submitted to a magazine for inclusion in a product review I had written.

I know the highlights are blown in places, my excuse is that I was new to the camera.

The picture has been cropped and resized and had 'edges sharpened' one click.

When I saw the scene I was reminded of a picture taken by - Tadpole - He and - Chris - will know the one I mean. ... They say "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery"

I guess this is the Tadpole shot you're referring to Ellie -- http://tadpole.shutterchance.com/photoblog/squelch/ If so, I see exactly what yoou mean. But that was way back in November, so there's certainly nothing wrong with your memory! Nice shot. I especially like the position of the breaker line.
Ahahh, el agua no creo que tuviera muy buena temperatura en Febrero !!

Ahahh, the water I do not believe that it had very good temperature in February!

Jimbo ha hecho un gran trabajo de búsqueda !!

Oh, I must go down to the sea again, Ellie! Even in February!

It's funny how so simple a shot can evoke memories and wishes in probably all of us. Well done, Ellie!

It's a good image, with lots of positives. Love the foaming shore break. Love the reflections on the wet sand. Love the lack of horizon. Love the opportunity to imagine what to 2 people might be chatting about.

I do know the one you mean Ellie smile I like the girl on the left's pose here smile
Great candid moment!
This image for me is all about that invisible bond between the mother and the daughter. Lovely image.

That website I mentioned a while back is www.onestop-digital.com. They don't do Olympus but they do different brands of lens which might work with your camera. They delivered to me a lens in two days from Hong Kong which I thought was amazing.

Lovely image. I don't care about highlights etc. It's about the feeling.
I like it just the way it is.

I had the same thought when I saw your picture Ellie, before I read your caption smile I love the poses these people have adopted - the quizical stance on the one on the left and the straightforward stance of the other. It seems to say something about them
