Primulas and Cycleman for sale

Taken at Lymington's Saturday street market in February, this picture of pots of Primulas and Cyclamen is one of several I submitted to WhatDigitalCamera for a product review.

The picture has been cropped, then resized and had 'edges sharpened' one click for uploading here.

Super colours. And more flower names for me to remember ;-)

Gorgeous!! I think plant shops and stall are the best places...always full of colour and exotic odors.
I might have been tempted, with this image, to crop it to a thin letterbox featuring the in focus deep yellow and blue flowers.
EJWilkins: Crops always 'get' me! wink I tried various ones with this including the letterbox shape you've suggested which did look good, but in the end I preferred it with the flowers fading away into the background against the grey road surface.
Thanks for the idea Ray smile

I understand what Ray is saying but I like the out-of-focus flowers, too, because of all the colors they represent. If my math is right, I counted 6 different colors of blossoms! That IS like "inside a crayon box!"

This also reminds me a bit of the flower shop just down the street from our apartment here in A'dam where there is always a profusion of color outside on the sidewalk (where that "Eyeore" dog sat on Tuesday)!

Very lovely composition, Ellie. It's gorgeous!
EJWilkins: There were just so many different coloured flowers that day, I was in my element and of course ended up with loads of pictures for my 'archive'.
I did try Ray's idea of crop, but ended up with this one. wink
Beautiful colours Ellie.

what a cheerful start to the weekend! smile
Impressive this one. The colours are so stark and bright. Lovely pictures!
Very beautiful colours in this one, and I see a kind of diagonal line from top left corner to bottom right, and I like it smile
EJWilkins: That's one of the things I liked about it too Aksel, relieved to see that somebody noticed it wink

Looks much prettier set out like this Ellie smile
Beautiful colors. The foreground flowers are so crisp and fresh. I like the background bokeh it adds depth and mimics the way people really see. Lovely, Ellie!
Nice colors, Ellie.
Wonderful colors, Ellie! Great pp work, too. smile
