I haven't a clue what this flowering shrub is, but it was pretty.

It's unusual for you to be stumped about plants and flowers, Ellie. Don't look to me for help, though if I were sked to name it I'd call it 'tutu' (sure looks like a ballet or a ballroom-dancing dress to me(.
Very pretty Ellie.
Is it a Rhododendron? I took a couple pics of one the other day, and a friend of mine said that's what they were...and the flower looks a lot like this one. Very nice capture, whatever it may be called, Ellie!
It has a beautiful, frilly quality, whatever it is. Nice composition and detail.
It sure is pretty Ellie - nice shot smile
That's a beautiful flower... ! Me, fan, always ! smile
The composition to me is excellent.

You know how you're always saying my camera takes good pics of buildings? Yours does the same thing with flowers, Ellie! This is so sharp and focused. And is that pollen all over it?
That`s an interesting shrub, Ellie - no idea what it is, though. The photograph is lovely and I particularly like the contrast between the emerging buds and the full-blown blooms. Like the dark background, too. (:o)

Pretty indeed. smile
I haven't got a clue either but it's very nice. All the best, Dave
I like the unopened bud Ellie wink
EJWilkins: wink I was hoping you might know what it is. Tallish shrub, these flowers were at about my head height. Quite large soft leaves ...
I have pink roses that colour and looks like this has the same rust disease that my pink roses have.

I haven't a clue, either, but you have captured the heavy flower cluster beautifully.
Very nice indeed !
