Christchurch

Church Street
... looking towards the Priory.

I was standing about -here - . The picture was taken quite last week, quite late in the evening, which is why there are so few people about. I have no idea why the flags were flying.

Christchurch is a small but bustling little town, popular with tourists too.

Oh how i love seeing urban streetscapes from places I've never been. They always fascinate me -- maybe that's the urban planner in me!

I love your street shots, Ellie smile This one makes me feel like I'm driving down the street. Like Sparklite, I like to see places I've never been. Thank you!
It seems like a tourist-friendly place, too. Nice shot!
Nice street shot. Eurpoe is such a beautiful continent, rich with good heritage.
Nice capture
One of my favorite little towns in this country, it has a very nice golf course not to far away as well. Nice shot El.

A very English view - even down to the parking on the pavement! I see you have kindly removed the plates to spare them a retro ticket.

As you are open to technical comments - twilight is a tricky time to shoot and you may want to try a lower ISO if your camera will do it and go for slow shutter/small aperture. I realise that this isn't on if you don't have a tripod with you, but is worth doing the comparison if you can. (also not a good idea if you were standing in the middle of the road). Mike

Very english indeed. I was thinking about those plates where you hid the numbers (blackdog has very keen observation). Do you expect the traffic police to check your blog smile You may be missing out on a business opportunity since you hold the copyright to the pictures. They will have to pay you to use the numbers go after the people. tongue

Great street shot.
This makes me wanna visit England soon smile
Great street shot Ellie, nice colour right through. See you gave the number plates a good go...lol!
Hehe, no puddles in this scene! Have you escaped the rain Ellie/

I have walked down this street, and others nearby, a couple of times. As maria roy surmises, this old part of the town is a good walking town, but like many others, newer parts have spread it out beyond comfortable walking.

But Magnus has given me an idea. His comment makes me want to post more pictures that make people want to visit. On a good day, Blighty is hard to beat.
Your pics always make me want to come back to UK

That's a gorgeous English streetscene. By the way, the map you link to is interesting also. I particularly like the reference to Ducking Stool Lane!
It seems a calm place and to few meters of, as I see in the plane, there is a great amount of green zones there!
I was in a band playing at the regent center in Christchurch a month or so ago. I was told about the harbour, so headed there (the sun was just starting to set). I completely missed pictures in the town. And was hoping the church would be lit up, which it wasn't. So I'll just have to look at you pictures and see what I missed.
