photoblog image Optimism?

Optimism?

This is perhaps one of the most optimistic dogs I've seen in some time.

We were at a barbecue in Cascais this summer and this lovely chap sat there staring longingly at the meat before, during and after cooking. He was very well trained and didn't make any attempt to help himself.

He looks optimistic. I like the well organized framing. Somehow it is very unusual to see dog portraits in profile, but it works!
EJWilkins: He was so perfectly still I could choose what I thought the best view, and this was it, almost perfect profile. Glad you like it, thanks smile

Very handsome pooch. I am sure he would approve this profile shot, Ellie.

Nice dog, and good choice of background smile Please tell me that someone fed him scraps after he was so patient?
EJWilkins: Yes, 'twas me! And he was a gentleman, didn't gulp or grab his food!

I think he is smiling because in his mind be believes that his person is cooking that meat for him! Great shot, well composed. I can almost feel his soft ears from the clarity...
EJWilkins: Glad you noticed the smile, I'd thought it looked as if he was grinning. He was gorgeous, and yes, he did get a treat. smile

He was only drooling a stream for the cooker to slip in smile Is this a Weimaraner?

Great shot.
EJWilkins: I think he is Louis, and a very good example of the breed.

And the question is, of course, if he got rewarded for his optimistic patience!

I think we could reach out and touch his velvety fur, Ellie!
EJWilkins: Yes, I made sure he was rewarded, he was so well behaved, and his fur was just as soft as it looks smile
Gorgeous dog, I want to give him a stroke and fondle his ears. He looks patient and well controlled. Great photo.
EJWilkins: He wouldn't have minded that at all, in fact he enjoyed having his ears stroked smile

Great shot - I hope he got some scraps afterwards. Like the paw prints on his collar - someone has a sense of humour ;o)
