Excellent lighting really helps you show off the tilework here, Ellie.
EJWilkins: It was glorious sunshine, something I yearn for at the moment, seemed to show the building off quite well though.

I don't think I've ever seen a tiled church, Ellie, so this totally fascinates me! Besides, you know me and architecture. This is gorgeous!
EJWilkins: I hadn't either Ginnie, and because our stay in Porto was so short we wouldn't have seen this if it hadn't been just round the corner from our hotel. It fascinated me too, but, umm, I was a bit pushed for time ...

Portugal has such interesting tile, doesn't it? I haven't thought about that in years and now I am waiting to go back to Portugal! Thanks for the well done picture.
EJWilkins: Thank you Kathryn, some of the tiles I've seen have been gorgeous, and are much older than I'd expected. Hope you get to visit Portugal again soon.
Had a feeling this would appeal o Ginnie! Nice shot Ellie, I've never seen a tiled church before either.
EJWilkins: Me neither, it was very photogenic too, very clean lines.

This is beautiful! Great lighting.
EJWilkins: Thanks Helen
I love the profusion of tiles in Portugal, but I don`t think I have ever seen a church tiled on the outside! Great detail and light in this one, Ellie. (:o)
EJWilkins: Me neither Ros, and thank goodness the sun was in the right place when I had the chance to take this picture wink
Nice weather wich gives a beautiful light to he picture !
EJWilkins: Ooooh, it was glorious weather smile
Very nice picture. I like the lighting and the framing
EJWilkins: Thanks Richard, just a teeny crop to frame it the way I wanted, otherwise it's as it came out of the camera ... lovely sunshine smile
Lovely shot Ellie - the Portuguese certainly love their tiles.
EJWilkins: They certainly do, I'm looking forward to seeing some more smile

Blimey, loys of grouting there Ellie! Very unusual smile
EJWilkins: Ah, I'm not the only one who thought that, but perhaps they're bedded in concrete or something similar? Imagine getting an anti-mildew spray up there!

This is unique I think, all the tiles, this is so sharp!! Love the angle and the lighting, gorgeous!
EJWilkins: The sunlight/shadow helped with the lighting, and I think with the clarity. I think it's a very clear picture, was pleased with it.
Wow what a lovely church. Nice shot.

What a splendid idea you had! Church tower only! I have seen this church during my trip to Portugal last spring but I struggled to get any decent shots of azulejos... And yours is so simple and nice... smile

Nice contrast between the colors of the tower and the blue one infinitely!
