photoblog image Owl week

Owl week

The third of a bunch of pictures of owls for this week. There are just two different birds and each picture was taken in and around Lymington during 9th December, which was a dull, damp day.

This is one of the Eagle Owls from the Owl Sanctuary in Ringwood. I have no idea what was in the background on the right, it looks rather odd.

Owls are often brought into Lymington at the weekend, to get them used to people and also I expect for publicity.

~ Gallaxy ~ has some lovely pictures of other birds from the Sanctuary, taken while she was there.

The color of the eye must give mice visions of hell. Great looking bird!
Superb detail, Ellie. Makes me want to reach out and touch it.
I also think the death is great. And the colours. Wonderful. What a wonderful model.
