Convent of Christ and Templar stronghold, Tomar

You might remember my series of pictures of the Convent of Christ and Templar stronghold at Tomar in Portugal.

This picture is one I couldn't find a home for when I was grouping others together. The view is from the car park and was taken when we were leaving so was taken in a bit of a hurry and perhaps I didn't take as much care as I could, but I still like the disembodied person, I think he gives an idea of scale. Down on the left is the main entrance gate.

I'm sure there are places which give a view of the whole stronghold, hopefully we'll get back there so I can see for myself.

The Templars knew what they were doing with this one, Ellie. I can see why you would want to go back! I like the vantage point of this capture.

I love the shadow/sun in this one, it is a beautifull picture, it will be nice to return to the place.
A beautyful perspective to the castle between the trees branches.
The bridge carries the shot alright.

Imposing, solid building it is too.

Darn telephone lines and tourists! Without those two elements, this would be a perfect shot to grace the cover of any fairytale book.

The templar history is very interesting for me. great to see some things still are standing. The trees round the castle make a great contrast

Like how you used the tree's for framing the building
Agreed with Jewlya, fairytale castle at it's majestic best.
