photoblog image Ladder to nowhere?

Ladder to nowhere?

Makes you think, doesn't it?

.....

Some of you may remember some recent (January 2008) pictures of moss, it was growing on top of this wall.

I can see another ladder going down the other side. This is definitely going somewhere, probably a really muddy somewhere smile I like the sparse composition.
What's appealing about this, in my opinion, is the contrast of the ladder's straight lines and symmetrical geometry against the irregular stones and mortar in the wall.

The similarity of the tones in the wood of the ladder and of the stones is insistant.

Good.

The Rideau Canal here in Ottawa has rude black-painted steel ladders at every lock station. This is more evocative.

I like to think that two people were to meet at the top of each ladder. Great comp for a good story.

I agree with Red Pen - both the ladder and wall, separately, are nice squarely built items. But the angle they have to each other creates the interesting element of the photo for me. I find the ladder a bit too centered in the photo, but otherwise, this is a lovely shot.

This must have been one of Jacob's earlier efforts. lol
This is one of the photos which lends itself to all sorts of titles and thoughts. It provokes the imagination and set me thinking of the beginnings of a short story.................. which will probably never get finished!

Yes...that double ladder is for trolls to make their way over the troll-exclusion wall...the pest control folks should hang about there with nets.

inviting shot Elliesmile
Have a good weekend
Up one side and down the other, but what is there? Strange that the ladder has weathered to the same colour as the wall

Interesting combination of shapes in this, Ellie with the geometric straightness of the ladder contrasting well with the more irregular patterns in the wall. Well seen.

The bricks / stones look great. Lichen is a good sign of clean air, apparently.

Dumpty even...
Intriguing...there seems to be a banana surfacing just below the steps- so I'm guessing here but are you on a film set and this is the top of Carmen Miranda's hat as she is about to rise from the sea?! wink
Good shot, but I'd love to see waht's over the wall Ellie.
Another funny one ! Well done !
