I like the texture mainly that you have obtained on the walls.

This works really well Ellie
EJWilkins: Thanks smile
Very nice capture Ellie. I like the texture and the tones here!
EJWilkins: It's a lovely sandstone building, that gets looked after too, which is nice smile

Nice image Ellie. I like the corner stone repair. lovely textures and great ditto marks !! :o) John
EJWilkins: Makes me wonder what damaged the corner all that way above the ground.
This is lovely Ellie: the kind of detail a lot of us ignore or simply don't see. I'll bet milestones are another subject aching for recognition
EJWilkins: It's something I've thought of, but the roadside ones are usually in places difficult to get to or stop at. They'd make a good project, perhaps they start saying we aren't allowed to use miles any more and they all have to get re-carved in metric!

Whoever carved this was a smart, but lazy fellow:
1. Used miles instead of kilometers (less letters to carve)
2. Used 6 dots instead of carving 3 times the word "miles".
smile Z
EJWilkins: I know you're joking, because you know the UK hasn't yet adopted metric measurements for distance. I thought the use of the "ditto" was clever too. smile

Nice one! Great tones and textures.
EJWilkins: Thanks Martie smile
Very nice captuyre Ellie, it pays off to look up sometimes.
EJWilkins: Ah, well I walk along with my head in the clouds, trip over quite a lot too! wink
Plenty near enough by my reckoning!
EJWilkins: I think you'll like one of the other pictures for this week too, which seems to be incredibly accurate.

I like the way you included the corner with Abbey Passage. Nice tines smile
EJWilkins: Which is rather odd, because there's a Cathedral in Winchester, not so sure about an Abbey wink

Glorious colours in that lovely mellow stonework. I've walked past this many times but never had the "eye" t osee the potential for a photograph. "I have sight but no vision."
EJWilkins: Hang on a minute, your pictures are blooming good, you make landscapes work which is something I find impossible. But I'll accept the compliment all the same. Thanks smile
