Are they Witches Hats for the Owls to roost on?

Great lighting to bring out the woody tones, Ellie.
EJWilkins: I have a feeling there are witches hats a plenty when they have their Hogwarts Dinner! wink
I was lucky with the lighting, it was lovely and sunny outside, fortunately it didn't mess up the exposure too much.
This all looks reassuringly solid Ellie
EJWilkins: It really does, doesn't it, and comfortably old fashioned too.
This building just gets better and better Ellie. I hope it teaches the students to respect things, as well as other subjects.
EJWilkins: From what I understand there's a very long waiting list to get into this Hall, so yes, they most certainly do respect their surroundings.
The jugs on the table create great interest for me, Ellie. Were they left behind? Are the few users of the hall? Is this being used for a small meeting? I see the jugs are full.
EJWilkins: Oh come on Chad, you don't expect me to answer those questions do you? You'll have to use your imagination!

I too like the jugs - they look so institutional and totally disrupt the antique splendour of the setting!
EJWilkins: It's where 21st century functionality clashes with 20th century traditional ...
I love the old fashioned look to this Ellie, it's the benches and tables in part that give this feeling, it would be spoilt with modern furniture.
EJWilkins: Absolutely! I understand there was a bit of a battle to keep the old stuff, a few years ago when "things" were being upgraded.
Lovely shot Ellie, yesteryear feel to it apart from the water jugs, really nice !!!
EJWilkins: I suppose you could imagine the jugs are slightly grubby cut glass wink Of course, you're absolutely right.

Those jugs make such a difference to this picture! It is certainly a beautiful building
EJWilkins: It would be quite boring without them, wouldn't it?

Beautifully photographed
EJWilkins: Oh gosh! Thanks smile
Wonderful mellow wood. I want to touch it!
EJWilkins: So did I! And I did too! wink
Refectory tables ... what great bits of domestic furniture they are. The jugs are just so valuable as a bonus. richard
EJWilkins: Absolutely, and look at the benches, I wonder how many rears have sat on them in the last 100 years?

EJWilkins: I hope you're having a good weekend too Astrid. smile
