photoblog image Mistletoe #5

Mistletoe #5

Christmas Eve

This is the last of my group of pictures of Mistletoe growing on an apple tree.

This is perhaps my favourite, not because it shows the plant particularly clearly or because there's a lot of detail, but because it seems to sparkle against the clear blue sky and the berries look wonderfully creamy.

The householders were kind enough to let me into their garden to take this picture as well as others of this little series which finishes today.
.....

I was actually quite surprised how hard it was to get the pictures "right", with the berries their lovely creamy white and the leaves varying shades of yellowish green. Maybe it would have been easier on a dull day.

This is wonderful Ellie: a superabundance of berries
EJWilkins: It looks amazing doesn't it. Sometimes, in the scramble to get close in to something, it's easy to forget the bigger picture
This is the best photograph of misteltoe that I have ever seen, Ellie. I once worked in a place that had a member of staff whose name was Linda Toe. On her name badge it read 'Miss L Toe'. Poor thing.
EJWilkins: You're an absolute charmer Chad - come on, it's probably the only series of pictures of mistletoe you've ever seen, but I don't mind the compliment one little bit.
Hmm, some parents seem to be seriously challenged in the common sense department!
Did you get kissed when you took the pictures?

Great shot
EJWilkins: I was on my own, only my camera for company smile
now who would i like to be standing under there with, hmmmmm best say me other half in case she reads thisgrin

Beautiful shot Ellie and have a lovely xmas.........timsmile
EJWilkins: I can't imagine who else you would choose Tim.
Have a lovely Christmas smile

I think that the bright sun is against you here, Ellie. There semsm to have been plenty of dull days this week but I'm hoping it will brighten up during the holidays.
EJWilkins: Yes, I thought it would be nice to have the blue sky. I'll see what happened in the New Year when I can get there again
I will send you a kiss under the mistletoe Ellie....If that doesn't spoil your day nothing will grin
EJWilkins: Aww, would reciprocating spoil your day? wink
Well, the next few days I am not gonna check photologs, so here it is:

I wish you a merry christmas en a happy New Year!!

Thanks for all the lovely photos you shared with me this year,
EJWilkins: And thank you for visiting my site so often Chantal. Have a good Christmas smile

I agree, Ellie, this is the best for me too. You feel that you are directly underneath, waiting to be kissed!
Ingrid
EJWilkins: I certainly was underneath it Ingrid, thank goodness the kissing "to match the number of berries" isn't compulsory! grin
This is my favourite too Ellie.
Have a wonderful Christmas!
EJWilkins: I'm glad you agree with me Richard.
I hope you and your family have a lovely Christmas smile

LOL @ Chad, do I believe him ;o) Maybe ;o)

Works a treat for me, I like the light picking out the berries. Suspect it would work well in B&W too.
EJWilkins: Of course I believe Chad, he always tells the absolute truth wink

I'll let you twiddle with the b/w Mike, send yourself a postcard ...

This is my favorite too Elliesmile
EJWilkins: That's good, phew. smile
I agree Ellie, the best of the lot, especially against that lovely blue sky. Have a great Christmas.
EJWilkins: I'm hoping to get back there again in the New Year, no doubt with a different sky, we'll see if it makes a difference

Excellent - composition and the colour contrast as well. I must say from all the christmas decorations and stuff, I always had a wrong impression of mistletoe.

A blessed christmas time for you and the family - I hope you have all under the wing there. Mine are all here, including the in-law acquired during this year.
EJWilkins: Now you've got me intrigued Louis, what was your wrong impression?

All here now, I'll be signing off on Boxing Day for a while wink
Una imagen que desprende "abundancia" , esperemos que gane a la crisis.
Buenas fiestas y muchas fotos para el 2009!
EJWilkins: Thank you so much for your lovely comment. This tree is safe, for now, because the householders like it.
My best wishes for a Happy Christmas to you and your family
(babelfish)Gracias tanto por su comentario encantador.Este árbol es seguro, para ahora, porque los cabezas de familia tienen gusto de él.
Mis recuerdos para una feliz Navidad a usted y a su familia
