photoblog image Silver Studded Blue

Silver Studded Blue

Silver Studded Blue (Plebeius argus)

First of a short series of three pictures, showing the male S.S.Blue in flight.

Photographed on heathland in July this year.

More information at UK Safari

P.S.

We have a new internet service provider, with speeds significantly higher than the last one and which, so far, seems more reliable. Odd that they can manage it without changing any bits of wire.

It had reached the point where even trying to use the internet was unpleasant and frustrating, the speed had deteriorated to less than the old dial-up, with frequent disconnects - and the ISP didn't want to do anything to help. So they've lost our custom.

WElcome back Ellie! This is a fine picture of a delicate summer insect
EJWilkins: Gorgeous little things and, apparently, quite rare. You've been to where these were seen!
Very well captured in flight Ellie. Great to see you have your internet back.
EJWilkins: It's a relief to be properly online again, we were messed around for far too long

A beautiful butterfly with a very common name - if I still remember my Latin.
They are very beautiful and a great picture you made of it.
EJWilkins: I think you may be right, which means these little butterflies were probably quite common when they were given their Latin name
Ellie is back smilesmile

This is a lovely butterfly picture with soft colours
EJWilkins: They're lovely little things, it was amazing to see literally dozens of them
Lovely soft and gentle colour, well captured Ellie.

Welcome back.
Beautiful butterfly Ellie.
Lovely detail and beautiful composition. Excellent capture.

Glad your internet problems seem to be solved. Ours have improved, too. (:o)
