Sunset

Mudeford Quay

Another view of the same sunset as yesterday. This one was used/assessed because it was more appropriate to the task.

I thought a nice view of a pub at sunset was a good way to round off the week.

For those who didn't see yesterday's text ... The name probably comes from a ford over the River Mude (which few people know exists because the quay is alongside the River Stour, looking over to Hengistbury Head), Mudeford is pronounced "Muddyfud" rather than Mude-ford.

You are a girl after me own heart. Best way to start a weekend smile
It is all those difficult pronunciations that made English a difficult language when I was learning. Fortunately 'pub' was easy to pronounce wink

Yes...safe haven at the time of the Apocalypse...
Such a lovely and inviting image Ellie!
I remember seeing this pub when we were there on a windy dullish afternoon in April. How different it looks like this.
EJWilkins: It looks a bit isolated on a damp day, much nicer framed against a gorgeous sunset. I believe the place was originally just that, a 'haven' for fishermen etc. at the end of the estuary, but I could be wrong

I'm not sure what I should find more beautiful: the colourfully glowing sky at sunset or the cosy-homely and inviting looking pub - wonderful how the lamps are enhancing the dark silhouettes of the houses: the inn, the life-boat house, the shop -a very atmospheric and wonderful photo you may be proud of!
Lol at Louis, yes, the English pronounciation is often very difficult, do you also say Ox-fud?
EJWilkins: Yes Philine, that's how I pronounce Oxford.

Extraordinary colours, Ellie. I like the way the pub name stands out.

Is this a recent shot?
EJWilkins: Yes, it was taken mid October, I was incredibly lucky that that particular sunset was so good.
Perfect colors and light !
Great.
You've got a spectacular sunset!
Very very beautiful!
excellent composition, nice warm lighting, makes one walk into the inn after a hard day's work
Amazing sky and spot-on exposure. Well done!
