That's just gorgeous. You've really captured the grandeur of the sunset.
Stunning. Love the way the trees form an island of themselves in the pool of light.
Truly lovely.

Stunning sunset !
This is stunning, Ellie. The colour is just marvellous, as are the reflections. The additional detail of the reeds in the water add interest and texture, too. (:o)

You have captured the Midas touch here. Great picture and sunset. Someone lost a member here at the Hatchet Pond in the olden days?

Great picture.

What happened to the cygnets?
EJWilkins: I don't know what's happened to either the cygnets or the swans, they aren't there any more, unlike last year when they stayed right through the winter. Perhaps there were just too many to live in/on a relatively small area of standing water and they decided to move down to the coast.

EJWilkins: Thanks Colin, pure luck that I was there at the right time.the colours are different from yours, both pictures have a different feel but I wouldn't agree that this is the better.

Fantastic shot Elliesmile
This reflection is beautiful and would make a great picture on its' own. Try cropping down to the water level and see what you think.
EJWilkins: I did try that Bill, and it was almost my choice of crop because it does look good and somehow the reflection part of the picture is clearer. In the end I tossed a coin, just couldn't make up my mind.
Thanks for the constructive/useful criticism, I appreciate it. smile

Ellie this is just stunning, to be at the right place at the realy right time, lucky you smile
EJWilkins: I was very lucky to see this, it wasn't planned. Thanks Astrid smile
Beautiful shot Ellie. Could do with something like this here - it's rained for the last 48 hours. David.
EJWilkins: The weather's been exactly the same here Bill ... see Gallaxy's blog for today. Nice to remember sunny skies though. smile
How long did you have to wait for the sun to be where it is? Not as long as Ansel Adams ... He was happy to wait for days to get the right light. Great. richard.
EJWilkins: Errm I only went to try out my new tripod and this is what I found. Wasn't I lucky?

Hi Ellie, I stumbled across this in a search, lovely shot! It wasn't taken on 4 November 2007 was it? If so, we might have been there at the same time...
