photoblog image Owl week

Owl week

The first of a bunch of pictures of owls for this week. Just two different birds and each picture taken in and around Lymington during 9th December, which was a dull, damp day.

This is one of the Eagle Owls from the Owl Sanctuary in Ringwood, probably the best of the pictures of this bird.

Owls are often brought into Lymington at the weekends, to get them used to people and also I expect for publicity.

~ Gallaxy ~ has some lovely pictures of other birds from the Sanctuary, taken while she was there.

VERY nice shot Ellie. The only nitpick i've got is wishing the beak was a bit more visible.

being a bird nutter, this is stunning Ellie. These are amazing birds with so much wisdom in their eyes. Every time i see an owl it makes me think of Merlin the wizard
Oh well done, Ellie! This is such a beautiful portrait. The eye is stunning, as is the detail in the feathers. Thank you for the link - that was a really kind gesture. Did you get a chance to chat to the staff? I was so impressed by their enthusiasm and obvious love of the work they do. (:o)
